Nestlé CEO argues for the privatization of the world’s water

Do you think water should be a human right?

Each of us is comprised of about 70% of the stuff… and we need it to live.

    First, I think the CEO of Nestle is an idiot and a liar… he states that we in the US have been eating GMO foods for 15 years with no ill effects — which is at best premature because we’re just beginning to realize what those effects might be… then he says the chief social responsibility of a CEO is to “maintain and ensure the profitable future of his enterprise” — which clearly feeds into one of the basic errors and causes of our current plight: profit… he states that ‘water as a right’ is an extreme view, rather it should be like any other foodstuff and have a market value — once again: profit… this man is all about profit and thus I consider him insane… I think that water and all foodstuffs should be (actually **are**) basic human rights — same as air and freedom… but some people are working very hard at privatizing them — for profit — and in their erroneous efforts they are managing to corrupt our thinking so that we (falsely) entertain the possibility that these are not basic rights… rights not only for humans but for all creatures.

      some good points.

      It’s my understanding that the law forces companies to work not for the greater good, but for the good of the shareholders (this being a capitalistic drive toward the greater good by another “more practical” means.). Still… I believe that had he taken a more reasonable approach on this topic, his shareholders could have been better served.

      Instead he, and the product/company ends up coming off pretty cold. The man has the vibe of a Bond villain!
